Safety First - Every coach at Ma Simes Surf School is either an ASI- or ISA-accredited instructor and a qualified beach lifeguard trained in first aid. All instructore surf locally and have a special knowledge about dealing with the changing conditions at Whitesands. Therefore you can be sure that you will always be in safe hands.
Please note Age must be 8 years and older. Must be able to swim 50 metres.
Lessons - We run beginners, improver and private lessons daily in the summer starting at 10am. On the day of the lesson you will be met by the beach by your instructor and fitted up for a wetsuit. Once everyone is introduced and are ready its time to hit the sand. After a few safety talks we will go through all the different techniques you need to learn to become a great surfer and then get in the water. Every lesson is different and if you've done it before don't worry we will adapt the lesson according to each individuals requirements.

Nick Sime - Nick is the main instructor and founder of Ma Simes Surf School. He's surfed around the world for over 45 years and has been teaching people to surf for over 35 years. He's a qualified ISA surf coach and lifeguard and also owns the local surf shop Ma Simes Surf Hut.

- Improver Lessons
Once you have had a surf lesson and practiced a bit, the improver session will iron out any bad habits that you may have developed. The instructor will coach you on paddling and pop-up techniques, standing, and turning. When you arrive at the surf school, we will introduce you to your instructors and provide you with all the equipment you will need.
Through our improver lessons, we will provide you with the knowledge you need to take care of yourself and your equipment in the surf whilst ensuring you gain the knowledge to develop and improve your surfing techniques.
Lessons are run on a daily basis. However, times vary to allow for the best tides and conditions each day.

- No. of Students: Minimum of 3 and maximum of 8 People per Session

- Private surf lessons 1-4 personsIn our private coaching sessions, we offer you a chance to spend as much time in the water as needed as you learn at your pace. You will receive the constant and undivided attention of an SGB-ISA surf coach and lifeguard throughout each session. Moreover, you will be able to use our extensive selection of equipment held at the surf school.Lessons are run on a daily basis. However, times vary to allow for the best tides and conditions each day.
- Price: 1 person £75, 2 people £130, 3 people £165, 4 people £180
